We bossed it: hot water cylinder in Croydon

FITnFIX received a quotation request via Checkatrade from a new customer in Croydon seeking to replace their outdated and faulty Boilermate cylinder. Boilermate systems are often more complex than standard hot water cylinders, involving multiple pumps, valves, and sensors. This complexity can lead to increased maintenance requirements and potential for breakdowns. Repairs can also be more expensive than those for simpler hot water systems. Unlike other fitters who had quoted for a like for like replacement we took a pause to understand if an alternative solution may be more beneficial for our customer.

Our proposal was to streamline the system with a mains pressure unvented cylinder. Key benefits being a simpler design with fewer parts, leading to increased reliability and easier maintenance. These cylinders can be heated with or without gas boilers making them the go-to choice when upgrading any hot water cylinder. This solution also offered great savings on both installation and material cost to our customer.
